Wednesday, May 20 Our flight had a slight delay leaving Charlotte, fortunately only about thirty minutes and we had a wonderful flight to Seattle. It was so amazing to see the snow capped mountains and to follow the sun as we headed west. We used miles to upgrade to first class so that was a special treat. We had a couple ‘personalities’ with us, my favorite was the Super Important Man who always talked loud enough for everyone 20 rows back to hear him and how very funny he was, and then he shared with us all that while we would be waiting at baggage claim he would begin his 40 minute drive home, which had no less than seven taverns on the way and he was doubtful he would make it to work tomorrow. Can I just say how very impressed I was? So on we went to baggage claim to claim our 194 pounds of luggage – no, seriously. Luggage claimed, car service acquired and off we went to the Springhill Suites Downtown. Great Marriott hotel with a fairly central location. Of course, with the time change, I was falling asleep in the car on the way to the hotel and very happy to see the bed! Our goal tomorrow – see Public Market and the Space Needle… tune in to see if we see it from the ground or venture up!
