Final Sea Day

Final Sea Day
El Maduro, Cuba

El Maduro, Cuba

Our final day at sea… and we were very lazy this morning! LJ went out to shoot sunrise but the haze and light rain didn’t cooperate so he came back to the room and we ended up going back to sleep until almost noon. Which, even though it sounds like we’ve slept a lot, we really needed as we haven’t been sleeping that great at night.

We headed up to get some lunch and then LJ decided to try out the water slides on board. I took video of his first trip down, well, just the ending and then he took the camera with him for his next two trips. Then I found a lounge chair to read but quickly decided the humidity wasn’t going to be very enjoyable so I went back to the room to read – LJ… to the gym!

Then it was that dreaded time that seems to happen no matter what we do to avoid it… packing up. Fortunately this trip I only brought one suitcase so LJ packed his huge REI duffle in one of his bags and we used it as my second bag on the way home so packing was relatively painless. We got ready for our final dinner and headed to the dining room.

After dinner we said our good-byes to Chookiat and Decha our head waiter and assistant waiter from Thailand. We went back to the room to finalize our packing, put our bags outside the door and headed to the finale show. Tonight was Carnival Legends starring guests that had become ‘famous’ during the cruise, as they headlined some famous singers, ie, Cher, Aretha, James Brown, Elvis, etc. It was quite entertaining.

We finished up by going by the casino for me to try my luck… we left with sad faces.
