All the excitement has been leading up to this!  Alaska rolls out the white carpet for us and I’m so happy to see it as we get closer to our final destination.  Our flight went well even though LJ didn’t get in bed until sometime in the middle of the night.  It seems no matter how much planning goes into the days and weeks before that there are always so many last minute items to remember.

Our dear ‘ole friend was there to greet us, just like our two trips before.  I feel like we’ve finally developed a level of comfort and that he must be as excited to see us as we are to see him.  Don’t you think he looks excited?

First step was to secure our first of three rental cars for the trip.  The first is Julie’s Mercury Mountaineer.  We rented it through a website where people can rent their personal vehicles.  The parking at the airport is so expensive that she always leaves it at an off-site lot, with the keys in the middle console.  So we got a taxi to the off site parking lot and found it easily.  Very nice parking lot that has a car wash and security.  It was an older vehicle but perfect for our needs so we loaded up and headed off to the hotel.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn Anchorage for this trip, we’ll only be here one night and then tomorrow we go to find our ice climbing, mountain living friends!  Yeah!

We decided to visit our favorite Anchorage Restaurant, the Moose’s Tooth for some dinner, this now makes three visits here and it didn’t disappoint!  Time to get some rest to prepare for our big adventure which begins tomorrow!
