Mom and I slept late today. LJ was up early again, exploring the ship and finding us fun goodies. He brought Mom a sampler mini muffin platter and me some hot chocolate and watermelon before breakfast. Once Mom was awake he got her some cereal and coffee and then he and I went upstairs for breakfast. She wanted to have a morning in her cabin so we planned to come back and get her for lunch. After breakfast we explored the ship – what a sight in the Cosmos Lounge. We walked through while they were doing trivia so we sat and listened to a few questions. There was a group of people in some nearby seating and a guy got up and I saw a Q-Tip in his hand, he went over to the other side of the lady, lifted her hair and cleaned her ear. Yes… if I had to see it, you have to hear about it.
Soon it was time for lunch so we went and got Mom and also took her extra layers to be able to enjoy Hubbard Glacier. It was combat lunching… everyone of course wanted to eat early so they would be ready to enjoy the glacier and it was crazy trying to find a seat and also trying to get your food.
Then we headed down to Deck Four to see the glacier. She didn’t disappoint. It had been very rainy and dreary earlier this morning but by the time we arrived the fog had lifted and rain had stopped, it sprinkled on and off but we were under cover so everyone was comfortable.
Numie was wrapped up well, even donning her rain pants for extra warmth. We loved seeing the glacier and got to see it calve a few times. Numie said she was glad we made her go outside to enjoy it!
We came back inside and Numie decided to take a shower (yippee!!), LJ headed to the gym and I worked on the blog.
Dinner tonight was delicious and we enjoyed chatting with our tablemates about our day and about life. Mom wanted to go to the show tonight and it was a tribute to Whitney Houston by an artist named Ashlie Amber. She had an amazing voice and it was a great show. After the show, off to bed – tomorrow we will be doing a float plane trip over several glaciers – Numie is very excited!
