Excitement abounds!

Mom and I slept late this morning, LJ delivered coffee and… you guessed it – Raisin Bran and 2% milk for Mom.  We all went upstairs for lunch and then decided to tackle packing so we could enjoy the scenery once we got into the Inside Passage.  We went out on Deck 4 to watch for wildlife and enjoy the view.  We saw several porpoises out in the water but not much else.

Just when Numie and LJ were contemplating skipping dinner to continue the hunt, Eagle Eye LJ declared “there she blows” and pointed out a humpback out in the distance.  We were so excited Numie would finally get a “whale” for her trip!  We saw it come up a couple of times and then out of nowhere… another whale breaching even closer to us!  Three beautiful breaches and we were thrilled!!!

I went in to take a shower and they stayed out on deck, when they got back they shared they had seen some Orcas off in the distance – I was disappointed but happy for them.  LJ said we might have a good chance of seeing some more at dinner.  Off we went and enjoyed our last dinner with our new friends and LJ was right – we soon saw several Orcas off the shoreline.  What a way to end the cruise!  Numie said she had prayed about seeing a whale so she wasn’t a bit surprised that we got to.

We topped off the evening with a comedian named Fred that was just great – good clean comedy that all three of us really enjoyed.  Tomorrow we’ll head off the ship and make our way around Vancouver and then head to Seattle.

Our trip is almost over but we’ve made such amazing memories and seen such beautiful scenery – it truly has been a bucket list trip for all three of us!
