Numie was feeling good this morning and after some corn flakes and 2% milk she was ready to hit the road. We took an Uber to Pike’s Place Public Market and found ourselves among the throngs of people enjoying both the beautiful weather and the many things you can find here. The flowers were simply amazing, gorgeous arrangements for $10-40 that would easily be over $100 at home. Every type and color imaginable. Seatlle has been on quite a dry spell lately, not having much rain at all over the past couple months. While we know they need the rain, we couldn’t help but enjoy the sunshine.
We ate lunch at the SoundView Cafe overlooking Elliott Bay. From there we could see the ferris wheel and while LJ was away from the table, she decided she wanted to ride. LJ has quite a fear of heights, but he agreed and after navigating down to the waterfront, we made our way onto The Great Wheel. The things he will do for his mother-in-law haha. The ferris wheel is 175 feet high and there are 42 gondolas.
The views were spectacular and we could see the city and the bay, as well as Mt. Rainier.
After our adventure, we headed back to the hotel to rest and get ready for dinner. LJ had made reservations for us at the SkyCity Restaurant at the top of the Space Needle. We would be dining at 500 feet this evening! The restaurant is especially interesting because it rotates constantly so you can get full views of the city and the bay.
After a delicious dinner, we went up one floor to the Observation Deck to watch sunset and of course, let Flat Stanley have his picture made. He’s becoming quite well traveled. It was an amazing day and we really got to see a lot of Seattle in our one day.
Tomorrow will be our final travel day and Alaska 2017 will be in the books! What a trip!

I loved reading all about your trip! You always make me feel like I am right there with you. The pictures were fantastic too. Thanks again for taking such great care of our Numie and letting her see what she told me were the best views ever.
