Alaska… here we come… again!

Back to our favorite state with some new adventures and some returns to our favorites. This trip starts a little different in that we are going to spend two nights in Seattle on the way there, start to acclimate to west coast time and then travel into Anchorage during the day! Today our flight to Seattle was at 4:00 pm so we each worked in the morning. We parked at the Parking Spot and utilized our free parking days we had built up to offset the cost (this becomes a theme of the trip!).

The flight went really well, this was on American, which is our only leg of the trip with them. We used up our American miles and was able to upgrade to first class about two weeks prior to the trip. Dinner was chicken and ravioli with a fun ice cream sundae to top it off.

Arriving in Seattle, all bags were successfully located and we ordered a Lyft to go to the Embassy in Pioneer Square. Depleted some Hilton points for a portion of this stay and the hotel was great. We did find out there was a strike going on, at least for the housekeeping staff (almost 80 days to date). The other staff were overstretched but honestly nothing that we noticed (beyond the picketing in the morning) during our stay since we were only there for two nights.

We had decided to stay close for dinner since it was after 11 PM back home by the time we were headed to the restaurant. It was located right inside the hotel, “13 Coins”. I enjoyed the Berry Burrata and LJ chose the French Onion Soup and the burger with fries.

Exhausted from a long day of traveling we unpacked enough to find toothbrushes and pj’s and off to bed in our nice cool hotel room (very quick AC) and firm mattress in search of sweet dreams.
